A Note from Judith Tamar Stone
Holiday Greetings!

As the holidays swirl around us I hope that you are finding fulfillment and joy in your life. Mother Nature has just brought us over two feet of snow here in Boulder, indeed bringing a White Hanukah and Christmas to Colorado!

Today as we celebrate the Winter Solstice, the Festival of Lights, we are again reminded that winter has officially arrived (official solstice hour is 7:22 pm est). With the coming of the shortest day of the year, our days will now get longer bringing more sun and light into our lives.

I find this a perfect time to reflect upon the year that's past in preparation for the year to come. The final week of the year is a great transitional time to tie up loose ends and get our inner house in order.

With the seduction of the holiday rush this is a wonderful time to connect with your Meditator Self, featured in this issue of Connecting Presence. As your "being" self, the Meditator allows you to be present in the moment, whatever your moment may be.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season and great fulfillment as you move into the light of a new year!

Blessings,

Judith

Meet Your Meditator Self
The Meditator is the self that lives in the present moment. It is also known as the Being Self by allowing the concerns and worries about past and future fall away. It is a self that is famous for its ability to stop and smell the roses.

The Meditator thrives on listening to the wind blowing through trees or rain falling on a stormy night. It can feel the warmth of the sun or cool breeze on a summer day and see beauty in nature or art. This self relishes in the immediacy of the moment from tasting something spicy to smelling chocolate chip cookies baking in the oven.

The Meditator experiences the quiet and stillness that presence brings commonly through meditation. This state offers a supporting sense of goal-free tranquility in not having to “do” anything. This self is comfortable with whatever the moment brings.

OVER-IDENTIFIED WITH THE MEDITATOR:
If you are over identified with your Meditator you experience an overwhelming sense of passivity. This self can become undisciplined, unmotivated, ungrounded in your daily life and cut off from reality.
THE DISOWNED/REPRESSED MEDITATOR:
When you have disowned or repressed your Meditator you may find yourself hyperactive and outer-directed. You can lose touch with your surroundings as you become disconnected from your instincts and intuition.
THE INTEGRATED MEDITATOR:
An integrated Meditator supports our over all equanimity and gives us a feeling of “flow" in relationship to our inner and outer life”. By finding value in the moment this self creates a sense of balance between the pulls of our daily life and the stillnes of our inner nature.

POSSIBLE OPPOSITES OF THE MEDITATOR:
The Pusher, The Responsible Self, The Thinker.

DEEPENING YOUR DIALOGUE WITH YOUR MEDITATOR:
What is your relationship with your Meditator?
Is it a primary self or is it repressed or disowned in your life?
What is it trying communicate with you?
