Reflector
The Reflector
from the soon to be released Selves in a Box

And since you know you cannot see yourself,
so well as by reflection,
I, your glass, will modestly
discover to yourself,
that of yourself which
you yet know not of.

-William Shakespeare
A Note from Judith

Greetings!

The blanket of snow outside my window is a reminder that winter is only days away. Night falls and sparks of the holiday season begin to flicker. The newness of each season still feels so fresh and exciting. I am finding myself, as many of you, beginning to turn inward reflecting on the year that has passed.

This is a wonderful time to engage your inner Reflector as you contemplate your life, to date. This self brings a beautiful quality of attunement and self-awareness. Accessing your Reflector during this season gives you the opportunity to drop beneath the surface, and honor your present reality. Taking these moments to be with this self can inspire the choices that you make in the New Year.

Wishing you an illuminating Holiday Season.

Blessings,

Judith

Exploring your Reflector

The Reflector has the gift of mirroring what it sees, feels and senses. It has the capacity to reveal what it perceives, whether internally or externally. Through subtle and not so subtle impressions, this self can accurately and clearly convey what it experiences.

The Reflector is powerful in its ability to contemplate, speculate and ponder life's issues. It offers a kind of reverberation or echoing of what may appear hidden. This self can bring issues to the surface, enlivening their potency and potential.

The Reflector brings a personal connection with people, places and things. This spirit centered self can make a wonderful muse. It accesses information that can be harnessed in support of self or others.

IDENTIFYING A DOMINANT REFLECTOR:
If you are over identified with your Reflector, your feelings may become magnified and distorted. This may result in feeling out of control and overwhelmed by what you perceive as opposed to the actual reality of any given situation.
RECOGNIZING AN UNTAPPED REFLECTOR:
When your Reflector has been disowned or repressed you can feel disconnected from yourself and others. Without the capacity to express what you are experiencing you can become stagnant or stuck.
MAINTAINING BALANCE WITH THE REFLECTOR
To experience and maintain a healthy connection with this self you need to acknowledge where it falls on the spectrum between dominant and untapped. With an integrated Reflector you can maintain a greater sense of balance between engaging with life and insuring your own personal boundaries. This process may allow you to fully take in what you experience without diffusing your own personal independence or authority.

POSSIBLE OPPOSITES OF THE REFLECTOR TO EXPLORE:
Every dominant self has a corresponding opposite that holds possible clues to its current status. Potential opposites for this self can be seen in selves such as the Achiever, the Pleasure Seeker and the Masquerader.

DIALOGING WITH YOUR REFLECTOR:
- Where does your Reflector fall on the spectrum from dominant to untapped?
- What are the qualities that this self carries for you?
- When is the earliest memory you have of your Reflector?
- Who are role models that influenced this self?
- How does this self need or want your attention by asking for it at this time?
- If your Reflector is dominant, who is the opposite self that needs expression?
