To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier
state of mind than to be hopelessly
in love with spring.

A Note from Judith Tamar Stone
Fall Greetings!

Fall is without a doubt my favorite time of the year. The diversity of nature’s beauty is so enchanting with the fall colors and crispness of the winter snows arriving.

This fall holds a special place in my heart as I had the incredible opportunity of creating and hosting the Colorado Convergence in September. The Convergence was a gathering of Voice Dialogue Professionals from across the U.S. and created a meaningful time of presence and passion for the Voice Dialogue body of work. It is a wonderful experience when you are working on the creation of something and it takes on a life and momentum of it’s own. The tapestry we created during our three days together here in Boulder was indeed foundational and inspiring. Many thanks go out to my colleagues who attended and the continued commitment to our field of work.

I am delighted to find myself sticking close to the home fires over the next few months. This will be my time to put the finishing touches on a special project that will be unveiled in the months ahead as well as finishing the editing on my Body Dialogue book that has been a labor of love over the past several years.

The other bit of news I have for you is that over the summer, after some encouragement, I had the opportunity to create a CD based on my Body Walk Meditations. These walks that I facilitate in my Body Dialogue workshops support a deeper connection with your body. The CD is currently available for immediate shipment from my website.

I look forward to connecing with you soon and invite you to peruse the information in this Fall Update on my telegroups, retreats and workshops.

Blessings,

Judith

Meet Your Selves
The integral make-up of our persona consists of numerous selves within us. These selves reflect our feelings, thoughts, memories, hopes and dreams. This issue and subsequent issues of the Connecting Presence will share with you further insight into the myriad of selves that exist within us. In this issue we will focus on the Future Thinker who specializes in taking us out of the present moment and supports us in designing our tomorrows.

THE FUTURE-THINKER
The Future-Thinker is the part of you that isn’t being in the here and now because it is busily planning for the future. It is famous (along with The Thinker) for keeping you up at night with all its planning, organizing, and worrying about the future. This self uses a lot of mental activity constructing possible future scenarios along with anticipating what’s on the horizon. The Future Thinker thrives on eventual outcomes and projected successes.

OVER-IDENTIFIED WITH THE FUTURE-THINKER:
When you have over-identified with this self you become obsessed with the future. Your attention and perspective is more on what’s next rather than what you are experiencing in the present moment.
THE DISOWNED/REPRESSED FUTURE-THINKER:
When you have disowned/repressed the Future-Thinker you may experience a kind of passivity, lethargy or even hopelessness about the future. Not having access to this self can limit your ability to create short or long-term plans and goals.
THE INTEGRATED FUTURE-THINKER:
When your Future Thinker is integrated there is a balance between lessons and experiences from the past, opportunities and options for the future, and a sense of value and appreciation for the present moment.

POSSIBLE OPPOSITES OF THE FUTURE THINKER:
Pleasure Seeker, The Present Self, The Child Selves

DEEPENING YOUR DIALOGUE WITH THE FUTURE THINKER:
What is your relationship with your Future Thinker?
Is it a primary self or is it Repressed/Disowned in your life?
What is it trying communicate with you?
