A Note from Judith

Greetings!

As we begin to fully engage in this new year, it's a wonderful time to see what in our life supports and uplifts us. As Hal and Sidra often ask, "What in your life are you doing that you would like to do more of? What in your life are doing that you would like to do less of? " This can lead into a further inquiry - such as, where in your life do you feel nurtured, supported and uplifted? And conversely, where in your life do you feel depleted, drained and disconnected?

With Valentines Day approaching, it is a wonderful opportunity to consider being your own Valentine. In doing so, what would it be like to invite your Flirt to share his or her own particular qualities and style of engagement? This self brings with it a unique sense of presence as it appreciates a spontaneous connection with people, places and things.

Wishing you lightness and grace in the month ahead.

Blessings,

Judith

Exploring your Flirt

The Flirt has the unique ability to express what it is feeling through a handshake, a wink, a hug or a smile. Provocative in nature this self has a strong sense of its own value and worth. Often charming in nature, this self is fueled its connection to others.

The Flirt brings a quality of presence, engagement and affection towards life - people, places and things. Open and candid, this self has a wonderful ability of making others feel good about them. The Flirt does not limit its affections to people, age or gender.

The Flirt has an appreciation for what's interesting and appealing as it can connect with any and all aspects of life. This heart centered self is spontaneous, gravitating to where it feels energized. For the Flirt even a simple walk can become an avenue for engaging in life.

IDENTIFYING A DOMINANT FLIRT:
If you are over identified with your Flirt, you can be perceived as over engaging and inappropriate. Others may experience you as teasing, game playing or having an agenda.
RECOGNIZING AN UNTAPPED FLIRT:
When your Flirt has been disowned or repressed you can lose a certain kind of vitality and juiciness. You may feel inhibited and unable to engage in the moment, shying away from those who come in contact with you.
MAINTAINING BALANCE WITH THE FLIRT
To experience and maintain a healthy connection with this self you need to acknowledge where it falls on the spectrum between dominant and untapped. With an integrated Flirt you can experience the dynamic between personal containment and the freedom to be spontaneous. This balance gives you appropriate limits in any given situation while still offering you the vitality of your own unique expression.

POSSIBLE OPPOSITES OF THE FLIRT TO EXPLORE:
Every dominant self has a corresponding opposite that holds possible clues to its current status. Potential opposites for this self from the other centers of the Head, Belly and Spirit can be seen in selves such as the Shadow King, the Rebel and the Innocent.

DIALOGING WITH YOUR FLIRT
- Where does your Flirt fall on the spectrum from dominant to untapped?
- What are the qualities that this self carries for you?
- When is the earliest memory you have of your Flirt?
- Who are role models that influenced this self?
- How does this self need or want your attention by asking for it at this time?
- If your Flirt is dominant, who is the opposite self that needs expression?
