This issue of Connecting Presence finds me transitioning into my new home.   Box by box I am beginning to acclimate to both the space and a profound sense of feeling totally at home.  The lake just outside my window seems to sparkle in the summer sun.  It is a reminder to me - each day - to stop and enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

As we ease into these long days of summer it seemed to be a perfect time to let our minds drift.  This is an opportunity to visit with a Self that caputures the essence of lifes simple pleasures.

The Pleasure Seeker expressies our instinctual nature as it pertains to aspects of our life that we enjoy.   Each of us finds pleasure in different ways from recreation and time off, to the joy of starting a new project or class.  For the Pleasure Seeker, the process of seeking out life's pleasure's  can in fact, be as fruitful as the pleasure itself.

This is wonderful season to discover and explore more about your inner landscape as it pertains to fulfilling your personal desires.

Blessings,

Judith

Meet the Pleasure Seeker

The Pleasure Seeker
is famous for enjoying the creature comforts of life.  This self has the ability to find fulfillment and joy in even the simplest of activities.  It often thrives on immediate gratification and personal satisfaction.

The Pleasure Seeker enjoys the here and now.   These experiences can be everything, from getting a massage to  socializing with friends.
This Self can bring out the deeper sensuality in our nature.

The Pleasure Seeker
finds contentment in various forms of physical expression. This Belly Centered Self often seeks entertainment and fulfillment.  Sources of pleasure can range from spending the day sailing to enjoying its favorite food or drink.

WHAT ARE THE EXPRESSIONS OF YOUR PLEASURE SEEKER?

IDENTIFYING A PRIMARY/DOMINANT PLEASURE SEEKER:
If you are over identified with your Pleasure Seeker, you may become spoiled and indulgent.  Your need for continual gratification and pleasure can become a diversion, distracting you from the practical realities of your life.

RECOGNIZING AN UNTAPPED PLEASURE SEEKER:
When your Pleasure Seeker has been disowned or repressed your life can become all work and no play.  By losing the ability to find enjoyment in the moment you may forget the necessity of rest and recreation.

EXPLORING POSSIBLE OPPOSITES OF THE PLEASURE SEEKER:
Whether your Pleasure Seeker is dominant or untapped it has a corresponding opposite Self that brings the potential for balance. Where is your Pleasure Seeker on the spectrum from dominant to untapped? If your Pleasure Seeker is dominant who is the opposite Self that is being repressed or disowned?  If your Pleasure Seeker is repressed or disowned who is the opposite Self that is dominant?

Potential opposites for this Self from the other centers of the Head, Heart and Spirit can be seen in Selves such as the Responsible Self, the Accommodator and the Seeker.

CREATING BALANCE WITH THE PLEASURE SEEKER AND ITS OPPOSITE:
Making a healthy connection with the Pleasure Seeker and it's opposite Self can support you to integrate the qualities and characteristics of each Self.  With an integrated Pleasure Seeker, you can appreciate the simple pleasures life has to offer while assuring that your practical realities are appropriately maintained.  This dynamic brings to you a fluid balance between work and play. Becoming aware of your Pleasure Seeker and its opposite supports you in making more conscious choices.

DEEPENING YOUR DIALOGUE WITH YOUR PLEASURE SEEKER:
  - What is the earliest memory you have of your Pleasure Seeker?
 - How is your Pleasure Seeker expressing itself by showing up at this time?
 - Can you define the unique qualities that your Pleasure Seeker expresses?
